Leading Edge Application

What is it all about? The Leading EDGE is designed for future decision-makers to strengthen their business expertise and emerge as leaders in the trucking industry. 

This program offers a variety of sessions, which include a focus on:

  • Government relations & advocacy 
  • Public speaking, strategic thinking, 
  • Essential topics for the continued growth and development as a leader. 

Leading EDGE members will leave with confidence and pride in their respective roles in trucking. They will depart with new relationships and knowledge that will continue to enhance their ability to make a difference in all aspects of their life.


2026 Program Overview by Event

  • January 7, 2026 – Orientation & Leadership Lab with Michele To: Kick off the program with an interactive, hands-on lab focused on applying real-world leadership principles, making values-based decisions, and developing a personalized growth plan.
    • Location: Nashville, TN - Tennessee Trucking Association Headquarters


  • March – Legislative Visit & Capitol Tour: Experience leadership and advocacy in action at the Tennessee State Capitol through meetings with legislators and firsthand insights into how policy impacts trucking.
    • Location: Nashville, TN - Tennessee Trucking Association Headquarters


  • June 5-6, 2026 – Presentation Skills Training with Deborah Boswell: Gain the tools to communicate with clarity and confidence through interactive coaching on delivery, body language, and persuasive presentation techniques.
    • Location: Nashville, TN - Tennessee Trucking Association Headquarters


  • July 8, 2026 - Final Presentation Zoom Prep Call: Participants will join via Zoom for the final presentation prep session. This session is designed to help you define your final presentation topic, ask questions, and see examples from previous cohorts.
    • Location: Virtually via Zoom 


  • August  19, 2026– Final Presentations: Present your capstone project to industry peers, mentors, and TTA leadership, with a Zoom prep session beforehand to refine your presentation and receive feedback.
    • Location: Nashville, TN - Tennessee Trucking Association Headquarters


  • September 13-15, 2026 – Dinner & Graduation at TTA’s Annual Convention: Celebrate your accomplishments on stage at TTA’s Annual Convention and network with industry leaders—application fee includes convention registration.
    • Location: Destin, Florida - Hilton Beach Golf Resort & Spa

Applications due: Monday, December 15, 2025.

Applicants will be notified of their status on Friday, December 19, 2025.

If selected, the $1,750 program tuition must be paid in full before the Orientation on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
